We just got through another bout of two year old testing from my daughter. Being tired of always getting her in trouble, I started using sticker charts to have a way to reward her as well. I started off with a sticker chart I found online, but it took 30 stickers to get a prize. While at a thrift store, I found a really fun set of wooden letters that I wanted to give her as prizes. I didn’t want to give her all 26 at once, but I also didn’t want to make her get 30 stickers for each one. Instead I made my own fun space themed sticker chart that only require 3-5 stickers to complete.

You can find the free space themed sticker chart printable later in this post.

Reasons This Space Themed Sticker Chart Worked Really Well

  1. My daughter loves the stickers themselves. I got her to go potty for the first time on the toilet by offering her a sticker. This was after trying all sorts of other things for hours. When she was about 1 1/2, I kept her entertained on an 8 hour car trip with the address stickers you get in the mail from nonprofits. Long story short, my daughter LOVES stickers.
  2. She really likes the space theme. She has recently loved the stars on her ready to wake clock, so making these space themed was a logical choice. I also found fun space animal stickers at the Dollar Tree to further the space theme.
  3. Another prize is always on the horizon. She painted a cardboard box to put all her prizes in to make it even more special. Read here to find out more about painting with a toddler. Every time she finishes a picture, she gets to chose a prize. With only needing 3-5 stickers, she knows that if she is good it won’t take long to get another letter.

How to Make a Space Themed Sticker Chart

Supplies:

Creating:

It is super easy to make these sticker charts for your own kid. Start by printing out my free space themed sticker chart printables. Here are the rocket ships and planet and here are the constellations. You can leave them as is or cut them out like I did. If you aren’t familiar with sticky tack, it is a great way to temporarily hang things up on your walls. Now all you need are some fun stickers that you think your kid will enjoy.

Now whenever your kid does something you want to reinforce, give them a sticker. Here are the space themed ones I got, but there are other fun ones like these alien stickers. Your kid can choose which picture to put their well earned sticker on. Once all the spaces on a space object are filled, give them a prize. Since there aren’t that many spots for stickers per picture I would suggest very small prizes. You can give them one thing from a larger set like we did with our wooden letters or something small like a single piece of candy.

Outcome of my Space Themed Sticker Charts:

My daughter enjoyed filling up her chart with stickers. She is young enough that she didn’t quite grasp the concept of filling up one object at a time to get prizes faster. So, she kept wanting to put stickers on different ones. Sometimes I let her and sometimes I guided her to finishing one that she had already started.

I hope these sticker charts work great for your family too. If you are also going through testing twos of your own, I wish you the best of luck.
