Our sandbox is probably the most played with toy by both of my older kids. Whenever we go outside that is the first place they go play. So, it was an obvious choice for a Rubble themed game for my daughter’s Paw Patrol 4th birthday party. We used this game as both part of our Paw Patrol mission and as a standalone game to get a Rubble pup badge necklace. We have done sandbox hunts before and this Rubble Paw Patrol game was just as fun.

How to Set Up a Rubble Paw Patrol Game:
Materials:
- Sandbox, area kids can dig, or bucket
- Plastic shovels
- Prizes (or make my badge necklaces)
- 3 yellow balloons
- Laminator (optional)
Setting Up the Dig Area:
This Rubble Paw Patrol game is really easy to set up. First, find your area you want the kids digging in. For us that was our sandbox. But, you can be creative if you don’t have one. Use a patch of dirt in your yard, fill a bucket with sand, dirt, or rocks, or make a mound of leaves. If you are wanting to do this inside, you can use a sensory bin like this dino dig one from Happy Toddler Playtime. I knew we were supposed to get snow, so I had my husband cover our sand area with a tarp to keep it as dry as possible.
Then, hide your prizes in your dig area. I hid parts of a treasure map for our Paw Patrol mission and then Rubble pup tag necklaces for our free play time. For smaller kids leave part of it showing.
Lastly, set plastic shovels up in an obvious place off to the side of your dig area.
Make a Rubble Sign:
After setting up, I made a sign to make it obvious where the game was and make it more Rubble themed. To make a sign like mine, tie three yellow balloons together. Then, tape on instructions and a picture of Rubble. I laminated both to make them sturdier. Here is a free printable of the directions to all my Paw Patrol themed games and here is the Rubble picture I used.
Playing the Rubble Paw Patrol Game:
This game is pretty straightforward. Let the kids use a shovel (or hands if they would rather) to find the prize they are looking for. You can restock as needed if you don’t want to initially hide all your prizes.
Conclusion of Our Rubble Paw Patrol Game:
I accidently made this game a little harder than I meant to. I should have hidden the map and necklaces in a small section of the sandbox instead of all over. But, kids like digging and finding things, so they still enjoyed it.
